We all try to keep up with the trends of now inside our homes, right? Why not outside too?

Outdoor Rooms Without Walls is all about creating a space made just for you and your family. Specific to your likes and wants, not everyone else’s. We would never suggest jumping on any type of bandwagon, but we don’t see anything wrong with a little inspiration!

Here are some of the trends we see coming in outdoor furniture this summer!

Mix it up

Who would of thought that pairing different frame materials was a good idea? We do! Lounge chairs, end tables, coffee tables, and ottomans are a great way to bring depth and a wow factor to your space. Choose your dominant pieces of furniture like a sofa, love seat, or sectional that sets the theme of the space, and expand from there with different colors & textures.   Creating contrast with different pieces of furniture as well as decor will make your space look larger, pleasing to the eye, and more inviting to your guests. We believe that natural tones & dark leafy greens are really going to be taking the stage this year!

Zero to Low Maintenance Plants

Not everyone has a green thumb, but it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t all have luscious greens and a pop of color with exotic flowers and plants on our decks! Tall grasses or plants can create division in spaces and helps establish privacy from close neighbors. Designs are endless with different shapes, sizes, and colors in planters to help accent any plant of your choice on your deck or patio. Time to get creative, without the worry of dead plants and shrubs. The green of the year looks like succulents & variety doesn’t fall short with the phony ones. Durable, realistic, and low-cost are some of the benefits of trading the real plants over to forever florals!

Privacy Screens & Enclosures

Our homes are getting closer and closer as cities expand and as much as we love our neighbors, we love and appreciate our solitude more. Privacy screens have evolved from wooden lattice and fences to beautiful, articulate pieces of hand-crafted modern art. Enhancing your space rather than just hiding it. Full deck enclosures have also made their mark this year… extending not only the lifetime and condition of your outdoor furniture but extending your summers as well. Electric heaters & Natural gas fire tables bring the heat into the fall months, and even those warmer winter days! Food for thought – propane fueled fire tables should never be used in any enclosed spaces, natural gas are recommended but electric heaters are the safest bet to heat your enclosed patio.

Evolution of Outdoor Storage & Creating a functional space

Sure, plastic sheds and bins work, but they’re not always aesthetically pleasing addition to your deck, patio, or backyard in general. Double the function of your furniture with hidden compartments in your coffee tables, end tables, and even the corner of your sectional! Easy open and accesses to belongings that you might not want to be hauling inside and out after every outdoor get together. Many of the storage compartments are not all water resistant and may not be trusted to safely protect your items from mildew and mold due to rain. Look for storage compartments that have zip in or Velcro liners to protect items from the elements! Just imagine – coolers in your end tables and toss cushions in your coffee tables… Get creative and wow your friends and family with style and functionality!
